Meeting at Center for Families

Center for Families

A Cultural Oasis

The program known as the Center for Families since 2005 has moved out of its location in North Minneapolis and plans to re-launch in Brooklyn Park or Brooklyn Center with the aim of serving the West African immigrant community more closely.  The name “Center for Families” will stay with the building on North Fourth Street, so the program is seeking the help of the community to create a new name and identity.

"We've had success these past 9 years thanks to our loyal community," said Edmund Ocansey. "It makes sense to involve them in this important name change decision as we move into the future. We realize that the building that we sold in North Minneapolis was the Center for Families and we now need a new name for our program that tells what we do and who we serve."

Please submit your ideas for a new program name by emailing Edmund Ocansey or completing the form below. A $50 gift card will be awarded to the winning entry. Deadline: March 1st.
