West African Cultural Awareness and Family Day

Making the cultural connection

Sharing traditional songs and dances, culturally significant food and dress, soccer games and other family activities, more than 200 community members gathered at the Center for Families on Aug. 15 for the second annual West African Cultural Awareness and Family Day.

"We are very happy you are here to share ideas, talk and come together," Sara Nelson-Pallmeyer, executive director of the center, said.  "We want you to consider this your home."
